Orthoceras bookends, Morocco. Sculpted from 350 million year old rock containing the shells of ancient extinct squid-like creatures - the ancestors of the present-day squid/octopus, these bookends are an attractive and distinctive gift or display piece. The bookends do have some natural fractures that have been filled in naturally with silica and other minerals.
